apologies

To my loyal reader(s):

Allow me to apologize for my shoddy management of NOMENCLATURE this last month. I went on vacation and then started a new job and haven't had as much time or energy as I'd like to devote to creative writing. Having a real job is something altogether new for me, so I've been focusing a lot of attention on that these last few weeks.

As with any big change, it is important to find a rhythm. This job will provide a nice little routine for me, and hopefully my writing will grow from it. In the meantime, as is often what happens to me when I start a new job, I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping. I keep waking in the middle of the night with the feeling that I'm being watched. It might have to do with being thrown into new surroundings, trying to learn new procedures, finding a new schedule, etc. etc. The lack of sleep hasn't exactly fostered the creative juices.

I'm really enjoying this summer, though, and I feel like Cleveland and I have found some common ground. I'd like to thank Cleveland for giving me a job; likewise, I feel that I am giving back to the city by taking public transit to work every day and remaining generally positive when downtown.

I can't say yet how often I'll be posting to NOMENCLATURE over the next few weeks. If you've stayed with me this long, then I guess sporadic posting (at best) is expected by this point. Let me fall into a new routine.

I'll stay with you if you stay with me.

Sincerest thanks,

--RdB

I think, if I were you, that I'd quit Newswire and see if they have any openings at the Alta house. You'll sleep like a babe.

Your story was really good at Bloggapalooza today. Thank you so much for coming out. Someday I'll start asking you to perform at shows where money is involved, and you can live off of that.
